This workshops focuses on some key foundation movements found in belly dance traditions that awaken new patterns in the body to access self-soothing. This workshop is an exploration and celebration of the body. It is open to all bodies, regardless of dance experience. Belly dance is both a practice that empowers community participation allowing pleasure and enjoyment of sensual movements in an energized atmosphere. Belly dance also has the potency of helping us find deep stillness through gentle wave work allowing an inner exploration of quietness. This workshop will be combination of flirty, up-beat movements that celebrate our delicious selves as well as an exploration of the self-soothing aspects that can help down-regulate our stress responses and nervous systems. We encourage guests to wear comfortable clothing for movement or clothes that allow them to feel their most sparkliest!
*Hip scarves will be provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own as well.
